Why Race Is Made Up.....And Just A Part Of Your Mentality
MY OPINION IS WHAT MATTERS.....BECAUSE I AM MYSELF AND NOT WHAT OTHERS WANT ME TO BE....AND THAT IS WHAT FEEDS MY PRIDE....-Yours Truly....
“We judge others instantly by their clothes, their cars, their appearance, their race, their education, their social status. The list is endless. What gets me is that most people decide who another person is before they have even spoken to them. What's even worse is that these same people decide who someone else is, and don't even know who they are themselves.”
― Ashly Lorenzana
“Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else's opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation.”
― Oscar Wilde
“When a man gives his opinion, he's a man. When a woman gives her opinion, she's a bitch.”
― Bette Davis
“If someone isn't what others want them to be, the others become angry. Everyone seems to have a clear idea of how other people should lead their lives, but none about his or her own.”
― Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist
“People can tell you to keep your mouth shut, but that doesn't stop you from having your own opinion.”
― Anne Frank, The Diary of a Young Girl
“Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social enviroment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions."
(Essay to Leo Baeck, 1953)”
― Albert Einstein

Race is a part of everyone's negative mentality! Many young people do not understand what race is or understand why it impacts everyone, in every gender of every ethnic group. What this means is that there is a meaning of race that affects all humans because they are considered "not equal." Race is something that is made up and used for the wrong reasons, resulting in negative side effects, especially for girls.
Many young people do not understand what race is and what racism can do to a person. Race is something the Europeans used to rank human beings, judging everyone by how dark or light their skin was. It started when Europeans were trying to take over trade and lands around the world. The Europeans used a ranking system. What this means is that race is a part of human mentality. In the beginning of time there was no such thing as race, there was just human beings. Of course there was animals and plant life, but intelligent life on Planet Earth are HUMANS. There is no difference between the so-called races of Black, White, Asian, or Hispanic in anything. The only difference is that everyone on earth is different, everyone is a unique person. So many people that live on this earth do not understand this and take race to the level that Europeans had during the 1500's. Racism is that level. The level where, instead of uniting us as the Human Race, it divides us and destroys us. Young people believe race is real, that there is a difference between all of us, and that not being White-or any certain race they favor-is wrong or horrible. Racism is something that exists because of all the racist "jokes" and offenses against anyone who is (most times) non-White. This is how race and racism becomes real. It all becomes real because many are killed for it or not given equal rights for it; these people include all people because racism creates hate and is that hate targets its creators. For example: if a Hispanic person is racist towards a White person then this White person starts to hate the Hispanic for being unfair. This escalates to hate between each other and the White person starts to fight back. This has happened before. Slavery has made many "Black Americans" hate Whites for enslaving their "people." Then, there is the racism Hispanics receive for being "immigrants." They are called this because they were not born in this country or because their parents were not born here; this is just the result of ignorance because the USA is a country full of immigrants (Black, White, Hispanic, Asian, etc.)
Yes, it is quite possible that there is a difference in how each gender experiences racism. This is true because you see it all over. In girls, racism is worse because girls are very high-maintenance and care a lot about how they look. Girls care about their skin texture, hair, face, and body structure/shape. This causes problems among girls. A female may want a certain hair type/style, but cannot because it is not possible for their hair. There have been times where this female tries to change the hair type, but the fact still remains, it isn't her natural hair. With men it is different because men do not give a flying fish. They may have preferences and such, but men are more relaxed. This has resulted in being true time and time again because men are not so badly judged like females are. An example would be the time a girl with curly hair would beg for straight hair. This classmate of mine would pull my hair and make fun of it and since I used to always wear it in a pony tail, she hated that. She would get mad and say things that started off with, "If I had straight or wavy hair and not curly hair, I..." That was when I saw that she truly wanted straighter hair and that insulting me was just a shelter for her feelings. She felt horrible because of her curly hair and the worst part was that she was not of my race, so she felt even worse. She confessed this to me one day and said that she wished that she was my race. I felt horrible because her being jealous of my hair was not something I expected. Additionally, I always would complain about how unmanageable my hair was because it was so thick and heavy. This is just one of the ways girls experience racism, they believe being a different race (black or white, spanish or black) is better than the "race" they are originally are from. For males, the more apparent racial discrimination situation that occurs to them is because of their skin color. Other than that, they are not put down or feel bad for it as much as females.
To wrap up, race is something that negatively affects people everywhere. This makes people insecure about themselves and how they look. It seems to affect females more than males. There is only a limit to what young people know and understand about race. Young people use "harmless" jokes and do not realize when they are being rude or "racist." Race is a delicate matter and there are certain truths behind it all that get obscured because of how negative it is. In conclusion, race and racism are two subjects that many young people do not understand and is made up, but with very strong negative side effects.

John F. Kennedy's Inaugural Address
The negative impact President Kennedy believes science has had on the world is that it brings destruction among people. In Kennedy's speech, he says, "....we offer not a pledge but a request....before the dark powers of destruction unleashed by science engulf humanity in planned or accidental destruction...Let both sides seek to invoke the wonders of science instead of its terrors." What he means here is that science brings destruction with weapons that are created by scientists; it divides people rather than unite them, by using science's terrors to compare or to annihilate others. Two ways that Kennedy believed science could help the world was by eradicating diseases and exploring stars. In the speech he says, ".... seek to invoke the wonders of science instead of its terrors. Together let us explore the stars, conquer the deserts, eradicate disease, tap the ocean depths, and encourage the arts and commerce." What he means is that science can be used differently and friendlier towards humankind. It is just like in like in the World Wars, especially World War II. In this war, science was used to create weaponry that killed many innocent lives.
Kennedy believed nations could make a difference in the world by making serious proposals for control of arms (firearms) and to bring "absolute power" to raze other countries/nations that are under this control of other nations. In Kennedy's speech when he speaks of the union of the nations he says, "....Let both sides explore what problems unite us....Let both sides, for the first time, formulate serious and precise proposals for the inspection and control of arms, and bring the absolute power to destroy other nations under the absolute control of all nations." What he means here is that instead of fighting each other (as nations in war), all nations should figure out ways to control problems of each individual country. He says especially the control of firearms and absolute power in other nations, nations that are in the shadows and need help. Just like in this speech, in many places throughout the world there are countries that suffer because of lack of attention and because of war. This is because no one is truly helping and the countries are all fighting, plunging innocent citizens of that country into darkness and "poverty."

St. Patrick's Day.....Awesome, Right?
The history of St. Patrick's day is of Irish origin. It has to do with a saint and it falls in this exciting season of not spring, but Lent. Lent is a season of Catholic belief, the period before Jesus Christ was crucified. There are customs or prohibitions of Lent, such as the consumption of meat. Saint Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland and he lived in the 5th century. He was born in Roman Britain and at the age of 16, was a slave and transported to Ireland. He escaped imprisonment and slavery, but returned to bring Christianity to Ireland. It is believed he died around March 17, 461. It is said that he explained the Holy Trinity with an Irish Clover, the Shamrock. The Holy Trinity is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; the Shamrock has three leaves. This was not celebrated in Ireland at first. Surprisingly it was celebrated in the USA because of British/Irishmen soldiers and the parade celebration of their Irish roots on March 17, 1762. But Ireland celebrated the Feast Day of Saint Patrick.
He was an example of a person who spread Christianity and was faithful to it by returning to the land of his slavery.
Why wouldn't St. Patrick's Day be awesome?!
